My 67 MK1 Cooper S is one of the latest versions. I love the mustache grill and overriders but think the 850 wavy grill is the best looking.

The grille and moustache are looked after by a few self tappers (or grille buttons if you want to be fancy)

I'm strongly tempted to use something like Sikaflex or double sided tape on my whiskers.  The whole front end fit is a bit "flexible" and the proper clips can be a little problematic...

Cheers, Ian

can this grill be added to a late 70s , early 80s ?

Absolutely, there is a lip on the bonnet of the later cars the will need to be removed. Easy enough, a few spot welds to drill out.

Then it is a matter of getting the appropriate grill, moustache, and whiskers. And assorted clips...

"Mk4 ran from '76 to '84 (better subframe mountings, still on 10" wheels) "

Not BETTER....quieter.  Many of use install solid mounts

"Mk2 ran from '67 to around '70 (squarer front grille, bigger back window, square back lights)"

Also had external hinges same as MkI

I found this on the Web , being a newbie like myself I wanted to know if this is right ? Mk1 ran from '59 to around '67 (small back lights, external hinges etc)

Mk2 ran from '67 to around '70 (squarer front grille, bigger back window, square back lights)

Mk3 ran from around '70 to '76 (look very much like your car!)

Mk4 ran from '76 to '84 (better subframe mountings, still on 10" wheels)

Mk5 ran from '84 to around '91 (12" wheels, front discs, plastic wheel arches)

Mk6 ran from around '91 to '96 (pretty minor changes)

Mk7 ran from '97 to end of production (Multi point fuel injection, driver's airbag)
