I'm in Australia, it was an insurance job so I got 0'Brien Glass to supply and fit it. The brand is `Australian Auto Glass'. Probably Chinese made like everything else is now.

I definitely wanted to stay away from the band across the top of the window. I'm liking the tinted window. Kevin, where did you get your new window?

Many of the Mini screens sold now have a dark tint band across the top. Trouble is, it comes so low that tall people have to squint under it at night to see.
I recently had mine replaced, it has a very light tint all over, which is much better IMO.

Some of our specialist (glass) shops offer a windscreen repair service.  IME these repairs work out well at much less cost than a new screen.

However, that looks like a pretty severe hit so may be too large to repair.  Also they have a no go zone in the drivers direct field of view.... which would also be an issue (foe a LHD car...)

May be worth enquiring..

Cheers, Ian

Tinted will cost way more I suspect....is it worth it?...I don't think so.
The last windscreen I had put in cost only $140 installed, at Speedy Autoglass....(about 7 yrs ago )

So my 84' Mayfair, 1 year old to me has taken on a casualty to the front windshield. OUCH!!! So I am going to purchase a new window, seal and inner seal and change it out. Looks like I'm going through Moss for my new window. They have clear and tinted (green) windows. Anyone have the tinted? Better then the clear. Or keep the car original (clear)? Just a side note, I do not plan on keeping the car original. Thoughts........
