Ah ok, thanks for all the help guys. In the owners manual they specify the 15" rims, but I figured something was up because almost all websites don't offer the 15" rims with the S Cooper, only the base hardtop. Not fitting with the brakes makes sense.

15" wheels won't fit over Cooper S brakes.  16" minimum.

Adapter rings are readliy available to reduce to 56.1.  That center bore and lug bolt circle is the same as many years of Honda Civic and Accord. Look for four lug 16" Civic wheels.

Ditto on Tire Rack - ask for Alex, their resident MINI expert.

The problem with generic wheels is the bore center - MINI wheels use the center bore to center the wheel and if the bore is not the correct diameter - chances are you will get a wobbly ride...

The "tire rack" will be able to provide whole package- proper fitting wheels.

Add your choice of snow tires - also with tire rack = Complete package

THey might even offer fitting same chains too!

I recently got a 2011 Mini S, and with winter on the way I wanted to be ready. My last car had snow tires, but even then had a rough time last winter here in Jersey (hills everywhere), so I've been looking at having snow chains available. In the owners manual, Mini recommends 175/65 R15s tires for snow chains, but I'm an amateur when it comes to wheel/tire fitment. Would these 15" steelies fit on my Mini with these tires?

My concern is that the center bore for the rims is 72.00mm, where I believe the Minis center bore is 56.1mm, does that make a difference? Any help would really be appreciated.
