Yes absolutely! They will make special thick gaskets to make up for lost deck height as well. I've measured the standard thicknesses and they range from about .035" for the 'smaller' overbore sizes (.020, .040, .060) to about .042 for the "race 1380" version. These are the 3-layer steel gaskets, so are a bit thicker than the standard Payen or Federal Mogul type, which tend to 'crush' to about .028-.030". The Cometic don't crush below the thickness of the steel plates.
How much thickness do you need? What sort of compression are you trying to tone down?

Anybody using the Cometic head gasket to fine tune compression ratio? All good? Any problems?
