The beach car that was at MME 2000 and 2003 belongs to someone here in Montreal.
He bought it from the former owner of Budget Rent a car in Dorval  at least 20 years ago.

At the sales price of $51k, that’s a $2,900 loss after 7 years. As far as investments go, I’m not very good with math but…

An almost identical one sold for $181.5k at Bonhams?

Moral of the story? Sell your Mini at Bonhams!

The beach Mini at the B-J auction should be coming up shortly.

It's Lot #399. //www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1962-AUSTIN-MINI-JOLLY-197232

As of this moment, (3:15p California time) the auction is on Lot #388.

Watch it live here: //www.barrett-jackson.com/Live/Streaming/Video

It's a No Reserve auction.

I seem to recall someone posting a photo on the MM Forum of a similar beach Mini (but it was a conversion) that they saw at a Mini Meet or car show? Am I remembering that correctly? (I have a great memory - it's just really short!)

The Qvale car is priceless just for its connection to BMC and the US.

There have been some other Qvale cars that some members have had over the years...Dr. Dave....

All original 846 miles !!!! That one should set a new record price.

Looks like (an) Austin Mini "beach car" is coming up for auction again. (Bonhams says only 14 were built?)

In 2009, it sold at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale for $53,900.

Chassis Number: AAY1L197654

In 2014, a different one sold at a Bonhams auction in Monterey for $181.5k.

Chassis Number: A-AY1L-197664

In 2016, the first one is up for a No-Reserve auction (again) at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas Oct. 13-15

Chassis Number: AAY1L197654
