Lid just snaps on after lining up the arrow....may take a rubber mallet ( if it's off the car )

Thanks Alex. Arrow position noted. I only wish you had said wether the cover snaps on or not. I didn’t spend much time at it yesterday, but in that time I couldn’t see grooves that would indicate that the cover must be turned to lock into place, or simply snapped together. If I go blind it won’t be from carburetor troubles..... ;-)

Thanks, Darren.

The arrow doesn't line up with the intake tube, it lines up with the locating lug on the housing - the one where you prise it apart with a screwdriver.  Offer the lid to the body with the screw holes lined up and it should be blindingly obvious which way round it goes.

Hi gang. I expect this question may not be very taxing for most forum members, but trying to fit the cover to the air filter housing last evening turned into a cuss-fest. How do these go on ? I know the arrow lines up with the intake tube, but does the cover just snap together, or does the cover push down , twist 5 or 10 degrees, and is then secure ? This is the type with two wing nuts.

Thanks Bro’s and Sis’s, Darren
