If access to the rear is not a concern or if if access from the passenger side only is provided most of the non-original seats installed can be attached to the rear "latch holder" used by the original seats even if it's just with a good strong cable.

No there’s a talented woman in Canada working on the back seat. The front seats are actually kind of worn and dirty, but they will work for now. Textil seats

Yep.

In my case I made these seat mounts that attach like stock mini seats at the front only, so they will pivot for back seat access, then the Honda or other seat attaches to them with their adjusters. Of course not being attached in the rear could cause your death in a frontal wreck if there is a unbuckled passenger behind you. Ah the good old days.

And the finished seats.

Thank you! This is fantastic. And they look great. Were you able to use the back seat as well? I was surprised to see on the other thread that someone was able to use the Acura Integra backseat.

I have a 62 with some kind of Honda seat, I have just had some age correct aftermarkets seats redone, but saving them for a complete interior redo. Now working to remount the Honda seats as they were      done poorly. If I were starting at your point, I would hit the junk yard for seats I like from any small car, and get to fabricating some well made mounts. Many now have airbags in them, but disconnected would not be a problem.

I just got an '88 Mini, spent the weekend driving it, and have already bonded with it. The seats are in bad shape and my initial thought was to replace them with Mini seats from the 1980s but that were in much better condition than mine. Then I learned some people replace their Mini Classic seats with more modern seats from other cars. Since I'm way more interested in performance, durability, comfort, etc. than keeping everything historically correct and original, I figured if I'm going to spend money on new seats, then for me up-to-date seats is the way to go. So now the question is which seats? Any recommendations or suggestions? Has anyone heard about someone fitting seats from a New MINIs into a Mini Classic? There may be people out there who would have an objection to a MINI for Mini seat swap but I'm not one of them.
