The lamp mount looks like a piece of galvanized tin in the video. My 66 Morris S body does have door jamb switches but the headliner has no lamp mount.

Somewhere and its not on the periodic table, is that rare element "unobtanium". You will find on a Mk1 Cooper 'S many parts that fit this classification. One of them is the base you are looking for. Plastic that is say 52 years old has the tendency to biodegrade, crack and fall apart. I was going to suggest eBay, swap meets, etc. like the link above but that puts the lamp in the $50 USD price range (shipping not included) I believe this is what you and I are looking for.

i would like to install the headliner but i need info re: the dome lamp and installation.
i believe I have the proper dome lamp lens but I am missing the base.
John Parnell book indicates the black metal on/off switch became a white plastic on/off switch in Sep 64.
any recommendations re: sourcing white on/off switch base?
