Bluedragon, the Non-supercharged Vans are pretty pokey. I have been in it with 2 other grown men and it was in 3rd gear by the time we ambled across the intersection from a standstill...
With the Bedford style front, it gives people a lot of time to admire how cool it is!

Usually though the prices on BAT soar in the last 6 hours. I'd say that white Sambar will eventually go for around $7000 in the end (just off trends, not actually examining the car and its details.)

The supercharged Sambar I was looking at was running about $6,000 up until the last day. Once it spiked past $8,000 I decided not to drive up for a look. Supposedly the VW body kit mods are rare and no longer available, raising the price (on top of the uncommon factory supercharger option.)

A Kei-class 2 seat coupe with forced induction would be more than fine, but a Sambar is quite a bit larger and less aerodynamic. If you load it, it would be much heavier too. I'm not sure how those things even move if you have 4 adults loaded in it.

So the non-Kei Libero (which is left hand drive) would be preferable. Harder to find though, I think these are mostly in continental Europe. The Sumo would be the RHD non-Kei Sambar derivative. It probably can be found in the UK. These models I think can actually hold 6 people with 3-row seating.

I haven't driven a supercharged Kei, but I have been driving a turbo model for just over a year, it is one of the funnest (most fun?) vehicles I have ever owned. The turbo kicks in and she happily revs to 8000+. Perfectly happy on the highway as well.

A friend of mine has one, it's a cool little van, has the "Bedford" style front end.

This Sambar sold on BAT a couple of weeks ago. I was very close to driving up to B.C. Canada to take a look and buy if the price was right, but it ended up higher than I wanted to pay for a Sambar (even a supercharged one, which would be almost usable on the Interstate.) I'm really holding out for a Libero (the non-Kei version of the Sambar.)

I like Minis.. had my fun with them.. the japanese though were doing some really cool things in the early 1990s.

the orange one is real nice. white bar in front, white wheels, dual glass roof.  cool seats.

anyone want to buy a 1967 UK Moke in great shape with about 17K miles?  (just kidding, i think)
