I've got one also - found a vintage racer in Atlanta who would like it but doesn't want to come and get it. Only if I haul it down to Savannah.
May have to find a corner in the garage to park it out of the way for future use of some sort.

I posted the information about the engine on the Spridgetlist and there appears to be interest from a vintage racer in Michigan. Problem is getting it there. Right now there's chatter on the list about having a multi-person volunteer door to door transport convoy with hand-offs between Virginia Beach and Michigan in order to help the guy out. That's what the Spridgetlist is all about. This is not the first time I've seen this level of brotherhood amongst this group of Sprite/Midget owners.

Failing that, I may pick up on Doug's suggestion by posting it on some of the vintage racing sites to see if there's any immediate need.

Otherwise Steve, maybe I'll get it to you if you can possibly use it in the future.

Mike ... Sorry to say that I have no spare Bugeye seats.

Al ... For now, it's looking unlikely that I will be at Dion's event this time around.

That's too bad.  At one time there was a market for the 948 parts... particularly if the engine had a crank that had not been reground.  I guess I'm out of touch these days.  Sorry.

Howard, if we can figure a way to get it to my shop I'll store it till needed. I'm currently building a 948 for a Lotus 7 America. This is the second 948 I have built. Press fit 998 rods and flat top pistons with a mildly ported 295 head.

Howard, if no one here snaps it up, consider posting it on the VDCA or SVRA websites.  I'm sure a vintage racer will want the 948 parts.

If anyone in the vicinity of the mid-Atlantic area would like to come by and pick up a 948 Sprite engine w/cylinder head which was running when removed, please help clean out my garage for the new year before I haul it off to the metal recycler.
