Thanks to you both - Don't think I haven't considered similar options, it's been one thing after another for the last year

..probably shouldn't have said that out loud

I've tried that - It's hard to get much grip, and I've been warned not to put too much pressure on the trunk latch 'handle', but I can't get it to move.

Try pushing it to the right as you lift, if it's hanging up on the left.

Hi all - Please help!  I have an 09 Cooper S Conv.  The nice kid at Walmart closed my trunk/boot by lifting it on the left hand side.. he didn't slam it or anything, but when I got home, it wouldn't open. The latch pops, and you get the small gap, and if I pull on it, it pulls away in the center and on the right side, but the far left top corner is stuck.  I have gone in from the inside and cannot see anything stuck in there.  I've tried kicking it from the inside, even the emergency release.. nothing.  I didn't even think there was any kind of catch on that side.. Any ideas
