Still worth looking at as i have seen the bolts come loose.

If it is the pulley i would look immediately as you don't want to end up with a damaged crank end.

Rockers are stock and I've never seen any marking on the inside of the the cover. I also have a silicone gasket which adds some height. Oh, and I removed the rocker cover while it was making the noise and the pitch/level did not go up at all.
If I get it to make the sound again, I will try to removed the belt and see if it continues. That would rule or confirm a lot.
Also look at your crankshaft pulley to see if it is coming loose and maybe hitting the lower radiator bracket, personally i can't see that much noise coming from the water pump, fan or alternator but you never know.

It could start making the racket and be self destructing faster than you can stop to check it out.
Its for sure rotational with the engine.
Also mentioned fan touching shroud or rad or such= Same worth checking,

As Alex suggests take a look at the inside of the rocker cover its only two bolts and 5 minutes.
Also did you try running it with the belt removed yet?

Not all rockers clear the Minifin rockerbox, with 1.4:1 and above you need to relieve the inside by quite a lot.

I am going to have to see if the tips of my fan blades look damaged. Maybe the bottle caused some damage...but strange that it comes and goes.

also , do you have an electrically activated secondary cooling fan? Normally would only run when hot.

I went out before and started it again and the noise is not there. Makes me think heat is involved...hot bearing perhaps.

Try using a long screwdriver as a stethoscope. Put the screwdriver's tip against various points on the engine, water pump, and alternator then rest your ear against the handle.
