Well, it's been 6 weeks and nothing has happened yet so I'm looking for other options now. I have a chance to purchase a used 2006 Mini Cooper S model with a bad tranny. My question is: Can I use any of the parts on the 2008 non-turbo engine or transmission on the 2006 S model with a supercharger or are these two cars foreign to each other?
Thanks! I appreciate anyone's input.

No the 2008 coupe is different from the 2006. Different chassis and different engine and transmission suppliers too.
[that said, and only to confuse things-- the 2007 and 2008 CONVERTIBLES ONLY used the same engine, trans, and suspension parts as the 2002-2006 Hatchbacks, but the 2007 and newer hatchbacks are completely different from those earlier models]
