Is anyone aware of a service that repairs the modules? My hope is that I can have it repaired so that reprogramming can be avoided. I live almost 80 miles from a Mini dealer.

Is anyone aware of a reader/programmer capable of doing the reprogramming job?

I always prefer to buy tools instead of labor. I appreciate any thought anyone may have.
I have read of others who have used the bmw electrical repair kit on the ABS/DSC module but it failed to correct the 5DAA problem and had to replace the entire hydro unit...

A used ASC unit can be reprogrammed to another car...

Sorry but no info on the programmers used ...

Had the car for several years and have always been able to keep it running. Has about 180k miles and has had all the normal issues.
Just got an ABS light, Traction Control light and the Brake indicator (red) (no tire light). The system returns a code 5DAA which decodes to an ABS pump motor fault (there is another 5xxx code but I can't remember what it was but it decoded to a module internal fault and . I have an Icarsoft BM v2 reader for BMW/Mini and a "BlueDriver" and both agree but are of little help. A road test while reading the wheel sensors indicate all wheel sensors are functional and agree with each other. I reset the codes but they never go away.

I need some help with ideas. most of the used parts I have found are for units with DSC. My car does not have DSC (by decoding the vin) and I am concerned that the part is not interchangeable. I believe I have ASC-T. A new module is almost $2,000 and a used module is about 150-200. needless to say with a car with 180k miles, I am hesitant to spend the big bucks on it. Don't mind the 200 but am looking for suggestions. I tested the pump motor by removing it and applying power directly to the motor. It works on the bench. It did not draw excessive power and I have yet to reinstall the pump. I am sure that will be a challenge because of the cam and pins in the module.

I am well equipped with tools and a lift but I sure could use some of you folk's experience to keep me on the narrow path. I would like to keep this car for a long time as it is my wife's daily driver and she loves it.

Thoughts?
We have never tried swapping a DSC unit for an ASC unit, so we can't advise...  If nothing else, I would think the electrical connections will be different. The DSC unit also relies on other sensors in the system.

In either case, the unit will need to be programmed to the car...
