I will be arriving Sunday night....hopefully, with Larry and my shorty mini in the bed of my pickup. You can split up my share of the beer....We don't drink and we don't chew and we don't go with the girls that do.

The chief of police will be checking in on the show - and I believe doing a ride-a-long in the autocross. I'll be sure to give him your description so he can welcome you appropriately....

P.S. at 8200 feet, only 1 Red stripe a night should be needed...

My experience is that adjustments after about 5000 feet are good to make, but I *have* run up from 6,000 to 14,000 without adjusting.

I may be out of this loop on this one, but I always thought that SUs were self-adjusting, elevation-wise. My understanding is that the needle allows more or less fuel to pass through the jet based on the position of the piston, and the piston responds to the ambient air pressure, whatever that pressure might be. I regularly drive from sea level to 4000' and back, while my mass O2 meter remains steady.

[EDIT]  I just reread a couple of articles on the SU. It seems that the piston rises and falls based on manifold vacuum, not ambient air pressure. That would mean they are not self-adjusting. I'm sure I read somewhere they were. I should have known that the self-adjusting thing was too good to be true. So, what's the deal with my O2 meter? Maybe 4000' isn't enough to make a difference.

Yes it is. And one of the social rides goes up to 12,000 feet. you probably need to lean out about 2 flats for 5,400 feet, 3 for 8200, and your guess is as good as mine for 12,000.

There is assistance available if needed at the meet. Just ask at registration for Darren.
If coming from the East, Ax and Allies will altitude tune for you in North Denver. Coming from the West, there is a club member in Grand Junction who can help if you get there before he leaves for Snowmass.

Is the elevation at Snowmass Village actually 8,200’?  If so, I’ll have some carb adjustment to do, coming from nearly sea level!
