I visited Hugh yesterday and was expecting the worse as he has been in hospital for over a month now.  He is doing quite well and his wife was amazed at the improvements he has made in the last few days since the doctors were able to reduce the amount of water he was retaining.  That had caused lots of swelling-it was so bad he could not walk or move around.  He will be there for a few more weeks as he needs to recover from his surgery and start his chemo treatments. Mike McMillan and his wife also came to visit and we had a good time visiting with Hugh.
PS-the phone calls you have made to him really cheer him up!

Hugh was moved into a rehab unit yesterday.  Not sure how long he will stay there.  Give him a call and talk Minis with him-it will make his day! Any time spent in a hospital is no fun.......

Lets hope they got it all and the chemo/radiation will take care of anything they missed.

Glad they got to the bottom of it and figured out the problem.
Thanks for the update.

Good to hear the problem was found and actions taken. Hugh is tough so I'm sure he will get through this.

Maybe his next car should be a Biota?

I just spoke with Hugh.  He had a major operation yesterday morning and they removed a cancerous growth which had totally blocked his intestine.  He sounds good but he is still groggy from all of the medication.  Some chemo is going to come next and he will stay in hospital for a while yet.  He wanted his Mini friends to know that he is looking forward to going back home and to a normal life again.  Give him a call sometime  and say hello.  Thanks! Eric
