Maybe you can re-configure the oil lines and use the transmission cooler as an engine oil cooler?

thanks for the help. I didn't want to have to buy the new oil filter housing with oil cooler.$150.00. plus the coolant lines.$55.00.used parts.

I have a 2006 mini cooper s with 6 speed automatic transmission that I am doing a transmission swat to a 6 speed manual transmission. there is information I found that I would need to swap out my oil filter housing to one with oil cooler and change out the coolant hoses. the automatic transmission had a transmission fluid cooler on it to moderate the temp. can anyone tell me why I would need to swap out oil filter housing if it already worked on the engine with out the oil cooler? I capped of the existing coolant hoses that went to the automatic transmission cooler. any help would be very helpful. thanks mark
