I would check the knuckle joint on the right side. The plastic cup can fail, then the metal ball starts wearing into the metal arm. That would change how tight/loose it is. Lucky that it is the right side so you don't have the gas tank in the way if you want to drop the shock to remove the cone & trumpet.

'63 850 dry suspension- So I got new tires (A008) which took me from a 145/70- 10 to a 165/70-10.  Now I get strange noise from the rear (right I think) when turning sharply - Can't see where anything is rubbing.   No noise when going straight only when turning (faster and sharper needed to induce).  Since the rears don't turn the only thing going on there should be the wheels loading weight on one side and unloading on the other. Same wheels as before 10x4.5 minilite clones. Drums have built in spacers. Only odd things I have noted (which may be complete red herrings) is RR brakes don't seem to adjust (never get to lock) even though shoes look reasonable.  Can adjust the LR. And when jacked up and wheels are off - but not the shocks- the RR cone is sort of loose in place. Not enough that it fall outs but clearly looser  than the Left side.  LR cone seems to be still held firmly. Am suspicious of bad shock (at least) as I am also getting a bump/bump/ at low speed- goes away @ 30.  Nothing fancy in suspension - no hi-lo etc. I can start throwing parts at it- shocks and cones come to mind but thought I'd ask for thoughts and diagnostic tips first. Thanks in advance.
