Another vote for Heritage Garage. Not many folks around that will mess with SPI/MPI with success and proper tools.

Another vote for Graham at Heritage Garage. To complain about the drive from West LA to Costa Mesa...?? Uh, it's kinda comical. and if you don't already have AAA or a similar roadside assistance service while you are in your first year of mini ownership (at minimum) is equally as comical.
1701 Pomona Ave in Costa Mesa is somewhat of a mecca for classic mini owners.

Get yourself a Haynes manual and familiar yourself with the mini. Learning is the fun part of owning a mini besides driving it. You'll need the manual. Most mechanics won't know anything about the mini.

There should be a Mini Owners of America, LA Branch. Contact them.

Thanks. It's a long drive, and I'm not sure she'd make it. Let's see who else shows up.

While not in LA I can recommend Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa without hesitation, Their on hand parts inventory is only exceeded by the tremendous expertise Graham and staff possess. They have the stuff and know their stuff. Give them a call.

I'm the new owner of a 1990 Rover Mini, right hand drive, spent its first 27 years in Japan and now in Los Angeles. Any recommendations for a skilled mechanic to perform, at this point, general service and address some electrical problems?
