No go. Bid to $55K. I think if they addressed a lot of the inconsistencies of it, it would have went for more.

.
Simple recipe for Excitement:  Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

The bodyshell is missing almost everything that would identify it as a 'S' from the pictures. The very late MkI/MkII boodlid is odd to see. The car is not very similar to the one in the FIA documents. To me it looks like a storage unit for aftermarket and rally parts.

Not sure that car is even an S.  Has the right number on the repro tag.  Missing a bunch of S on items

A back-up Back to the Future car, in case the DeLorean broke down. Which isn't too much of a stretch considering the DeLorean's reliability history.
Yeah I expected this one to fetch a bit. Didn't think it would jump up that quick.

Not sure. I'm pre-millenial. I'm not hip to all their jive.

"the envelope"... is that what post-miillenials call it?

But as far as this Mini goes, it is an actual rally car with some race history. So all the extras can be forgiven, in my opinion, as they seem to have function and reasoning to be there. Not just some wannabe racer, driving their car into the tickle truck of add-ons.

Way overdone. Looks like a deep pockets version of buying everything at Pep Boys and sticking it on your car. Or what Adam Carolla call Pamela Anderson: A female Female Impersonator.

I particularly like the atv tires on the roof mounted wheels, and the description that includes "Maniflow LCB heather exhaust"

Someone will love it, though.

Check out this beaut heading to BAT in the near future. If only. I'd be dangerous if I had lottery winnings. This one would be in the collection for sure. I estimate it'll bid to, or sell around the $60-80K range.
