Hi Everyone, thought I'd share my cup holder idea in case anyone else would be interested. I know Steveston makes the 3D printed holder that gets mounted to the seat brackets but I wanted to look for another method since installing these would prevent my seat from pivoting and the cup would take up some of the valuable leg room.
After contemplating a few different ideas, I settled on getting these Stainless Steel Cup Inserts which have a hole in the center for a bolt. I drilled a hole tunnel and installed a rivnut to attach the cup holder. After driving around for a couple hours, its held strong and kept my drink in place.
Personally, I think it looks very clean, ergonomic, and doesn't interfere with the style of the car. I'll probably install a second one in the rear as well.
