Luckily I was able to find someone with a RHD car that the replaced the pedal box on.  I bought their clutch pedal.

I took a picture of the difference from a MkI LHD pedal and a MkVI RHD pedal.
All installed and feels like a new car!

I did an article on changing LHD to RHD for Mini Mag a few years ago, and I seem to remember that they are different - we ended up having the pedal box apart and scouring through boxes of treasure to try and find a RHD one.

Early/mid 2016 from memory - I'll try and check later if I remember.

Thanks for the offer Phat

Got the pedal in place .  Now to put things back together.
Started pulling shyte out so I could just take out the pedal box.  turns out the two bolts holding the front of it in place ( where column attaches ) were never meant to be removed.....no amount of force worked.
A picture of the mess I get to put back together. ( before pedal went in )

I looked in the original BMC parts books for MK1, MK2, Late model, and Moke. All of these show only one clutch pedal with no designation for LHD or RHD. The brake pedals are different but the clutch is not.

Thanks guys.

The reason I ask is when I looked up "Clutch pedal" on Minispares site....it lists as RHD pedal.

I have found someone local selling a RHD brake and clutch asembly....from a 96 I believe.

They are for my 89 .....hopefully it all fits.

My car was originally an automatic.....I've been using a MkI clutch pedal.  I figure as long as I'm in there checking/replacing pivot points....I put the right pedal in.

Hi Matt,

I recall reading here years ago that the brake/clutch brackets were different between left and right hand cars.
I went to the on-line parts diagram our host provides:

https://www.minimania.com/catPage/6-36/6/36/1/Brake-Clutch-Pedals-and-Controls

Here's what I found:
- The brackets are different, both left/right and before/after 1988.
- the L/R pre-servo brake pedals are different
- the L/R servo type brake pedals are different
- return springs, bushings etc, do not seem to be L?R specific.

There is no mention of a clutch pedal! It is a guess, but I suspect the brake and clutch pedals for a given L/R application are the same or similar to the pre-servo L/R brake pedals, so they may be side specific. These would have brake and master cylinders with actuating rods connected by the clevis pin at the top of the pedal.
The only physical differences I imagine  between clutch and brake pedals might be an offset of the sleeve the pivot shaft goes through and/or the offset bends in the pedal levers to space the pedals for foot placement.

.

Hi Matt

I've had both LHD and RHD Minis and don't recall any difference in angle/length/placement on floor etc.

That being said, I don't say this having them side-by-side for comparison (LHD Mini is long gone and I never compared them)

The "gas pedal" angle may have been different.

It would be great (best!) if you had someone with a both a LHD and RHD Minis to answer with authority.

I'd love to help you, but all I could say with a "some" decisiveness is they're probably the same.
