Thanks for your reply Dan. I wanted it to cover the seams I've created by welding the patch panels and for the vibration .

The inside stuff is sound deadening. On my '80s Mini some of it would chip off. You could use Fatmat or a similar product.

I'm working on my mini beach car, specifically the floors. I cut out the rust, made panels and welded them in .
The question- there is a tar like material, like the factory put on the inside, which is about 1/4 inch thick and painted. I had to remove some of it. Is there an off the shelf substitute ? Material has to be paintable. Or Do I remove it all and epoxy paint the metal surface.
The underside- I am scraping the undercoat spray the factory put on to get it metal so I can epoxy paint the underside.
