Hi Ian, just using the terms the seller told me... I've owned several British Cars and restored Porsches, BMW's and Ghia's, not to mention 15 motorcycles.  But I'm still not an expert.

If you are interesting, watch this video

I'm just trying how to proceed with the Mini, since it  has run in several years.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim, As some one who lives far away ..but has spent quite a bit of time in the US Mini scene ..... I was trying to gently steer you away from what can be a very contentious topic (esp in CA).

I think you’ll find “re-shell” is the more usual term for the procedure you describe. But there’s usually a lot more involved.

Swapping bodies/shells often has more to do with identities than hardware... As I said, read up on the topic of “re-vins” and see how much you want to disclose ..... I once knew a guy who had a Austin Healey Sprite sedan....

Happy to chat more if you have more questions.

Cheers, Ian

Hi, the seller said that a company in the UK purchased a 1969 Mini, removed the body and purchased a new body from Heritage and installed it. he said the process is called "rehunging", do you have any information of this process or Blue Stars?
Cheers

No idea what a “rehung” body is (typo??) or what clues you are looking for for ...

Maybe a search for “revin” before saying too much more ??

God luck, Ian

Hi, just acquired a Mini titled as a 1969 but with a rehung Heritage body(1972?) And a 1300 cc engine with SFi.  Not sure what the complete story is, anyone point me to some clues?

Cheers
Tim in Capitola,ca
