I doubt the booster is functioning, that's why I wanted to eliminate it. It also takes up a lot of room. Hoping there was an easier solution than changing pedal boxes and such. I was prepared to do new brake lines. Was hoping maybe just a master and new lines. I'll probably keep them if they were standard on the newer cars without a non-power factory setup. Thanks for the info.

All minis after 92 had power brakes. GMC227 is the part number of the master you'll want. The job will change a little depending on if your car is RHD or LHD. I've personally never seen it done without changing out the pedal box and brake pedal for a non-assisted one, but I guess theoretically you could modify the assisted pedal to work. Whichever way you do it you'll need new lines from the master to the proportioning valve. Cleaned up and functional the power brakes are nice to have IMO.

I want to get rid of the power brakes on my 1995 Mini Sidewalk edition. Did they all come with PB in 1995? I hate that booster taking up all that room under the hood. Do they make a replacement master cylinder that bolts directly to the firewall? Thanks for any help, this forum is great
