I'm not sure about your Mini, but I read somewhere that the computer that monitors and controls lights etc. expects a certain electrical load and throws a hissy fit (or an error code) when it doesn't see what it expects. LED lights draw less current than conventional lights, so the computer isn't happy.

For those wanting 'more light' out of the new MINI, we recommend 'adding' lights instead of trying to get more out of existing lights.

I want to upgrade my stock reflector headlights to something brighter. I tried using led lights from amazon but the error light came on in the car. I would like to avoid that if possible. What have you done that works well?
