The weight is annoying. The "cool" factor more than makes up for it. I'd take them over sliding windows anyday.

These doors were also fitted to Mk1 and Mk2 Minis in South Africa for about 4 years.
The lower straight chrome and the "over the window" chrome are unique to these doors, as are the 1/4 vent window frames, window lifter and even the door latches.
To be honest they are a bloody nusance ! They are around 20 lbs heavier than the slider window doors, and they constantly wear the uper hinge bushes.
My SA built Austin Cooper S has these doors and I grudgingly put up with them for the sake of originality
In my honest opinion, toss them and fit a set of sliding window doors with the Cooper chrome finish.
You may also look at modifying the standard Cooper chrome tim to replace the bottom trim.

minisport.au got back to me about the stainless finishers. they are no longer produced, so second hand is your only bet for getting real ones. I have a pretty lousy set of inners i'll try my hand at straightening. The car is headed to paint next week so it may be a minute before I can make a solution for the outer finishers.

These guys do have the correct felt and rubber and clips, but dont seem to carry the stainless finishers themselves. Will reach out and see if anyone over there in the land of oz has any leads.

Wind up windows. Not the outer "Deluxe" style stainless that borders the whole window. I need the straight stainless pieces that the inner and outer glass sweeper seals attach to. I believe these to be unique to the aussie doors, though id love to find out they were used elsewhere. Attached a pic of some originals from a different aussie in the shop. Unlike the Mk3 seals the sweeper felt is attached to the stainless with clips instead of being adhered to the strip. The inner finisher has rounded edges at both ends and is identical for both Land R sides and has a felt sweeper attached to it, and the outer finishers are L/R sided with rubber sweepers. I *can* modify Mk3 finishers to suit but would rather get it correct.

Are you talking about the stainless trim that goes around the window frame?

Not sure if im just not calling them the right thing or if they are truly NLA at this point. We have a van in the shop with aussie doors fitted to a non-aussie shell. Much of it seems to have been improvised, including the finishing strips, which are MK3 strips cut and modified to sort of fit. Is the correct stainless finisher available anywhere? I have what i believe to be the correct rubber/felt seal, but cant find the correct stainless piece to mount it to.
