Yes, you're correct. It has taken effect on many people and generations. It's just one of those cars that everyone seems to love. Driving around and kids and teens who weren't even around during its production time frame still get a kick out of it.
The first link that I posted expired due to the auction ending for it. But the second link still works. Just not as much of a write up and photos as when it was posted on the auction site.

Simple recipe for Excitement: Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

I find it amazing that the little mini inspires millions of people, whether it was buying one, to making it your own, to making making it stars in movies, to knighthood and now a little time capsule. Of course, anytime time I sit in a mark 1 or 2 I feel transported back in time.

If someone on here owns this https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/2023-italian-job-mini-cooper-s-driving-simulator-nP9DV4 I'd like to come over. I'll bring the wobbly pops and pretzels.
Seen the article on theDrive https://www.thedrive.com/news/this-vintage-mini-cooper-is-actually-a-top-notch-racing-simulator
Pretty cool. Brilliant!
Reserve not met. At a final bid of 22,250 Pounds ($37,000 CDN), and still didn't sell. So gather up your quid lying around and fancy yourself a purchase of notable worth.
