I think one or two times is not enough. They should support you. Keep at it until you get a reply. Mixing and matching other components might be a stumbling block.

Are you using SXTune on a laptop to monitor the ECU?
Have you double checked the setting for the trigger wheel? Both the interval and type?

Ive sent them a couple of emails over the past month or so but they haven’t responded. I guess because they sold the system so long ago they don’t support it anymore

This is very simplistic ,but why not contact SC directly? They are still in business.

After about 15 Years, I'm back working on my Riley Elf. It's got a new 1430 engine fitted which has never really fired up. I was going to use a megajolt system on it and did have this fitted for a while but I never tried firing it up.
I then decided to change to the Specialist Components EFI system. Unfortunately one of the mistakes I made was that, since I already had a Ford Mondeo coil pack and a Ford Crank sensor fitted, I deleted those from my Specialist Components order and spliced their loom into the wiring that I already had in place.
However when it came time to fire up the engine, it wouldn't run. After months of trying various things, I gave up and put the covers on.

15 years on, I'm really keen to get it running. I've got good fuel pressure at the regulator after the injectors and figure that it must be spark. I bought a set of those Laser Brand devices that have a small light inside them and put them between the spark plugs and the leads. From these I can see that, other than the occasional brief flash, there is no spark at the plugs.
The coil pack and the sensor were second hand and so I've just fitted a new Ford crank sensor but that made no difference.

I've just tested the wiring to the Ford coil pack. When the middle wire is live with the ignition on, both wires FROM the coil pack are also live. Is that correct? Is this a clue to why I have no spark? Does this indicate that the coil pack could be faulty and shorting out?

I'm guessing that it is probably not the Specialist Components ECU. During my checks earlier today, I did see that the fuse giving permanent 12V supply to the ECU had blown, so I replaced it.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
