The most readily visible were the "crash standard" bumpers, as well as special mounts (Front)and sheetmetal in the boot floor (Rear), but it may also have had stronger doors with anti-intrusion metal bars inside, and a slightly different door jamb mounted assembly for same.
It may have had a 998 with the "Air Injection" system with ports on the cylinder head to pump air into the combustion process. (Most, if not all of the air injection pumps and the related plumbing were removed long ago) Finally, the heater may have been slightly different in the way the fan / fan motor were mounted underbonnet. (Perhaps something to do with the "fresh air" heater of some kind?
