 N47 cooper d crank no start help

Unload the parts cannon (Stop throwing parts at the problem) and find out what the codes mean. If it cranks the starter motor was working, The codes seem to indicate some sort of communication problem between the components and the engine management system.

"rail pressure monitoring" suggests to me that it may be talking about a fuel rail - a pipe that feeds the fuel injectors. If there is insufficient pressure for the injectors to fire properly, or the computer thinks so, it won't fire the injectors of the spark. It may be a bad electrical connection or something wrong with fuel delivery - a fuel filter clogged, a fuel pump issue or maybe just out of gas!.

The can shaft sensor may be working (both the new one and the old one) but the computer is not getting the right signal. That also suggests an electrical problem.

START BY CHECKING FUSES!

Since both codes are from engine components, the connecting wires are likely in the same bundle. Start by very carefully inspecting (without taking apart) the connections and the wires leading away from the two sensors. Are they clean and tight? Is the insulation or bundle wrap worn, frayed or damaged anywhere? Trace the bundle all the way back to where that wiring harness connects to a terminal block or plug somewhere.

If you find a damaged spot, very carefully pull back the bundle wrap to see the individual wires. Is there ANY bare wire, even one strand poking out? That might produce a short or partial short resulting in a bad signal. Look for the colour code of the wires connected to the sensors and compare it with the colours on the wires where the damage is. Do they correspond? Each sensor likely has more than one wire, and the colour codes may be hard to decipher - some others can be very similar and easily fool you. There might be 3 or more to each sensor - power, ground and signal. The ground wires (if any) would be the same colour and may even share a ground point. The power supply wires may be the same or different colour codes. If the same, they likely share common power source. If different, they get power separately. But they are likely fused, so check their fuses. (They may share a fuse.)

The next step is to test for continuity of each wire. First, check the ground wire at each sensor to see that it has a good ground. Next, test the power supply wires to see that they provide voltage at the sensors, with the key on. If no voltage, test with the key OFF, for continuity between the fuse and the end connector. If you have good power supply and ground then it is likely a signal problem, so you need to check continuity between the sensor and computer.

Hi

I bought a 2013 Mini Cooper diesel as a non runner as a project car

the car cranks but will not start.

the error codes are

4b90 rail pressure monitoring on engine start

3eC0 - camshaft sensor signal

so far I’ve replaced the battery , starter motor, alternator, camshaft sensor and the error code still popped up and it still won’t start. Is there any advice I can have on what to try next ??
