25 years on this forum.  Retired last year, sold house in town, moved rural, trying to get a permit for 2400 sq ft bldg here.  Meanwhile I suffer 20 miles each way commuting to my rental warehouse where I can work on my stuff 7 days a week.  Like you guys I have piles of cars and bikes and other old things waiting for me to make them happy.

There aren't many of us originals left.  I feel downright new compared to you two at "only" 22 yrs here - LOL !

I know what you mean; it's almost exactly 27 years since I first found the MMMB, and it's actually played a pretty significant part in my life.
I reckon I must be about the same age you were when you first arrived, and I'm having similar thoughts, albeit 25 years earlier... too many cars, too many spares, never enough time, I'm simply not going to use it all.
My shed needs replacing, and I'm emtying it into the garage ready for kicking apart the rotten wood and replacing it with a steel one.  37 cylinder heads moved and stacked so far and I can see 12 blocks to move just from the doorway.  I don't know how many gearboxes there are yet.  I'd already moved a dozen or more blocks a few years ago when it first started looking ropey !

Hard to imagine I fist found this place nearly 25 years ago. I had quit my job of 25 years and opened a 500 sq ft shop to support vintage race minis. It wasn't long before it became clear I required more space. Within a short period of time I expanded to 5500 sq ft. The appearance of the new MINI seemed to drive interest in the classics. Fast forward to Covid and my rent doubled and things slowed down. At my age I can no longer put in the hours required to pay the bills. Having 9 classic minis, most projects one is complete and offered for sale here. One waiting for new door to be painted and hung. Two being assembled, all for sale. Having reduced shop space to 3300 sq ft I'm still paying more than before. I no longer have wall space for shelves to store parts. To make matters worse my daughter 24 is planning a fall wedding and my son 25 is talking about a spring wedding. Both having recently purchased homes, while proud of both they are broke. My 90 Rover Cooper is listed in for sale. If you are looking for classic parts transmissions, brakes, carbs SU and Weber, suspension parts ( race and std ) some sheet metal, cyl heads, blocks, cranks, wheels steel and alloy. Steve (CTR)
