Gentle. non-distorting heat may help, as would a penetrating lube such as a WD40 variant - they now have several.
I've removed bike handles (and buckets) from one another with an air nozzle. You make the air work for you "hydraulically" (heavy on the air quotes) You'll probably have to tape off the thumb button for maximum efffect.
On the buckets I've done, my wife has dozens stuck together for years and no amount of grunting and groaning can separate them, yet a little blast between them with a 100PSI shot of air has them flying apart.
Similar on the bike grips. (tons of videos on this)
~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~

Not that I know of. It is a push-on fit and was never intended to be disassembled. (I believe the handbrake lever was only sold as a complete assembly.)
You can try clamping the lever down and work to twist the handle off. Perhaps some lubricant can help. If you aren't trying to preserve it (you're going to fit a replacement) the easiest way would be just to slit the plastic handle and pry it apart.

Is there a secret way to remove the handbrake grip? I’ve tried YouTube and got all kinds of responses to the BIMI but not to the real mini.
Appreciate anyone’s help
