FWIW Don't know what the JDM door cards look like
KimB
Right now the seats and door cards are Heritage Blue leather, which is basically baby blue. Not my favorite, although I've been surprised by the number of people who say they like it?
I'm going to do a gradual shift to an all black interior and I thought the door caps would be an easy start.

FWIW Don't know what the JDM door cards look like but I have had good luck with the 'black leather repair strips' sold on Amazon. Cheap (<$10) good looking and self adhesive. They can cover a lot of sins. Not sure if the exposed edges would bother. Not an issue where I have used- dash shelf.
YMMV.

Hey All,
my new JDM Rover Mini has some ugly burled walnut door caps(?). the piece just above the upholstered door card.
Mine are chipped in addition to being not my favorite look. I have a plan but looking for your feedback on if you think it will work.
step 1: remove from the door and scuff the shiny finish to help with step 4.
step 2: secure any loose, chipped edges with strong acrylic adhesive
step 3: fill in missing chipped areas with bondo and sand
step 4: wrap them in a textured black vinyl with a strong spray adhesive used for auto upholstery.
I'm going for an all-black interior and I don't love shiny, piano black. This seemed like an economical way to fix them up quickly.
thoughts?
and yes, I will be posting frequently on here. 1st time Mini owner and I value your sage advice.
