The oil & filter is cheap compared to a gearbox rebuild...
...just change the filter.

I change the oil & filter in my JDM Paul Smith every 2500-3000 miles and would reccommend JASO MA2 spec 10w40 oil.

Hello,
For older engines like your 1998 Paul Smith Rover, it's best to change the oil filter with every oil change—even if it's a bit inconvenient. Skipping it can leave contaminants behind. A quick-release grille mod sounds like a smart idea to make future maintenance easier without stressing old parts. cat fighting

And when you do change oil....be sure to use 10/40, which I'm certain the Jap market manual will also suggest (for automatics)

A paul smith is a special mini, and it would be false economy to NOT change the filter each time. Get your automatic the Very Best Chance to live longer and get used to pulling your grill. Maybe use the quick release you'd like, or consider the use of inserts at each screw hole to reduce the amount of stripping the screw or the sheetmetal hole. Best of luck with your PS Mini; as I say, it is a special Mini, and you should be proud of it.

All Together Now.... Everybody......

hello everyone

I have a 1998 paul smith rover is automatic JDM I heard a lot ppl said I don't really need to change oil filter every time when i change my oil is that truth? I don't mind change oil more often but i hate to remove the grille, I understand is not hard to remove it but I always try not to remove parts like this since the car is old i always feel if nothing really need it try to not touch it of cause if something happen I will still do it.

I also thinking about getting a quick release not i don't have to always unscrew and screw those

thank you so much
