TTT  Also, on the springs question, are there rubber "spacers" that fit between the subframe and the alloy parts??

I purchased some nice blue springs from a fellow MM forum member, and was wondering if I can use the stock trumpets with them?

Sean, I know that Newton makes a nice seat, but I am trying to go original to keep the costs down. I may just run the seamed up front, and keep looking for the sewn. I have a while before I have to worry about that!!!

Ron, I bought my replacements from Newton, they are pretty nice, and they are stitched.

I have definitely decided to go Tweed Gray with Red interior.

Now, wood, or not to wood, that is the question...

Ours(hers) are pale blue(cumulus grey?) so they wont work.

Tweed Grey with red interior would be very nice.

tssmith, i'm looking for sewn front red ones. I have the seam welded ones, but my back seat is in such good shape I would love to have them all match. I could even do a trade if needed. Thanks, ron j.

So what is the difference between Smoke Gray and Tweed Gray?

What color seats are you after? My wife may be willing to sell hers, but I will have to check.

Her idea is that she drives it with the comfortable seats and then I put the originals back in for shows. I did it once in 7 years.

A bit late back to the topic, but I did check my Countryman seats and the fronts are stiched and the backs are welded...

Ron you can switch out the drums for the spaced ones but you will need longer studs installed but it can be done with regular tools after removing the hub assembly. OEW would look sharp with a red interior imo.

Wow Ron - looks GREAT! You've gotten a lot accomplished.

I actually got out and worked on "woody" today, and got the subframes out from under it. It has some rough spot it to be sure, but so did my other car. Looks like the rear portion of the floors are good, but may need the two sides where the subframe bolts in. It is going to need front floors, and most of the sheetmetal up front. I have the other shell I picked up in Philly, and I could use the front floor section of that that already is stock set-up for the remote shifter. The subframes look very good, and will just need a good cleaning. That saved me quite a bit of money. I am thinking of having them powder coated though. It has regular drums on the back, and I was wondering if I could just switch out some stock spaced ones instead? I have some on some extra wet subbys I have hanging around. PErfect fit on the trailer, and you gotta love a car you can lift yourself! Gonna go and get it blasted after I get the subbys completely done. Still wrestling with the paint color! OEW or Tweed gray. It will have a red int. though. I am still looking for some good sewn front seats, anyone,,anyone..anyone?  Here is some progress pics:

I guess I spoke too soon!!! I found a photo of my '62 Countryman in Factory 'smoke grey' with the back doors open. This was an all original Mini with 34,000 actual miles. All of the rear door mechanisms were painted in 'smoke grey'. I'm still not sure though on the door mechanisms???                                                     Mini Estate
