Tony, you really are an idiot...  I'm not apologising to you; I've got nothing to be sorry about other than I felt sorry for you and tried to answer your desperate plea for an HIF38 carb.  Heck, I even offered a freshly serviced one, not some filthy crap that'd need rebuilding.

Show me where I said that it didn't have a needle.  I'm providing the new owner a needle which will work with their engine spec.  What makes you think that I would have cheated you out of a needle?

You really are a weak and pathetic f*ckup.  I hope you find one at the flea market and the vendor sets it up for you.

If you feel like I screwed you out of my free-for-the-sumpguard-trade carb, fine - you'd have probably had it by now if you'd had been polite to the other board members and if you'd have E-mailed a shipping address (any address where I could have sent it - work, friend, P.O. box, Burger King...) and sent the sumpguard to armycook.

You didn't live up to your side of the exchange, started asking stupid questions about what you'd asked for in the first place, didn't make a decision and the whole world moved on.  If you weren't prepared to ask for the item, you should have investigated first in order to learn if it was something you could use or not.  Only then should you have asked if anyone had one to trade.

Lucky for you, our host has them - only $325 for a fresh rebuild and you can possibly look forward to sourcing and installing a suitable needle.

Good luck to you, f*cktard -

EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE goodness,  is there a dropin carb that does not have a needle? YES, NORMALLY YOU'D SOURCE YOUR OWN - WHAT NEEDLE DOES OUR HOST'S CARB COME WITH?  MM's own $325.- product description states "A change of needle may be needed, depending on engine size and mods."  im still lucky that i didnt close the deal because i will be getting a non working carburetor vs my 38 year old super duper solid guard guard.

you really remind me of mighty rodent, we had a deal and same thing happened , he's saying things and retract it in the end.  $50 carb becomes $150 the next day.. seeesh!

ahhh !! what a screwy world !!!

Yeah, you came out ahead...  You do realize that unless you've made changes to your engine's volumetric efficiency, it uses the same needle as your HS4, right?

You asked for an HIF38 carb; the only thing you had to do was send a used sumpguard (costs $55.- new) to a decent guy and E-mail me an address where to send the carb.  That never happened, despite being reminded to do so...

I could have offered a non-rebuilt HIF38 to you, but I, in a most magnanimous gesture, offered a good/freshly cleaned and rebuilt one.  It also has the sintered needle carrier and needle spring.

You lost out days ago because of your f*cktard comments and d*ckhead attitude.  If you hadn't been a retread/f*cktard/sh*thead/d*ckstain (etc.), you would have E-mailed your address as requested and it would have been sent.  You couldn't handle an honest transaction, so someone normal stepped in, contacted me and can look forward to a nice carb supplied with whatever suitable needle I have.

So, keep playing with yourself, jerking off or whatever you do when you feel like you've taken another chunk out of this message board's otherwise civilized community.

Color me skeptical but I doubt if the famous yellow/red sumpguard was ever in his possesion.

When it was yellow he said, "i've no intentions of using this in my car."

Then, suddenly, he's showing a picture of a red sumpguard bolted on to a Mini that can't be identified as the Pink Wonder.... Well, except for the oil drips underneath. But, oil drips aren't all that uncommon.

Since our friend is so fond of taking pictures/video, I would love to see a shot that shows both the now red sumpguard bolted to the Pink Wonder.

But, I doubt if he can produce such a picture.....

i'm still looking forward to get an electronic dizzie,  tweet me @boison1010 , if you have one ready to part.

I don't 'Tweet'.

You really must be doped up or buried in a bottle.

First, I never said that the carb didn't come with a needle, I mentioned only now that I'm shipping it once I've had a chance to go through my needle collection to hopefully find something suitable (or close) to the recipient's engine spec.  Second, I never offered a dizzy to you; I merely mentioned that I've several.

Keeping in mind that I'm on vacation this week and will only be checking my E-mail once or twice each day, in the event that I don't see any E-mail within the next day or 2, would you like an HIF38 in exchange for the plate?

I don't want you to incur extra expenses producing a plate should everything fall through.

No E-mail ever came.

No E-mail ever came.

You really are a f*cktard.  You can't be civilized for even a short time, even when you've something to gain.  Go screw yourself, you primitive mouth breathing knuckle dragging limp d*ck waste product twinky eating piece of sh*t.

My portion of this deal's off.  You f*cked it up.  You f*cked yourself out of an HIF38 carb.

Oh, and if you didn't understand, F*ck off - and go buy a bra.

A sumpguard like yours costs £35.10 ($54.26) brand new from MSC (p/n MS96).   A potential deal is forming so that armycook will be sorted, so it's no big deal that you didn't intend to help him out either.

The prudent individual would have taken the carb - heck, you asked for one and it was basically free.

You've seen what our host charges for a rebuilt HIF38:  FZX1414-REB

Realizing that you'll likely play the victim card, the race card, the language card or the immigrant card, I'll put it in simple words that you'll understand :

You're not getting an HIF38 carb from me.   Your f*cktard attitude and d*ckhead indecision made sure of that.

I hope your f*cktard jerking around got your rocks off.

The rebuilt HIF38 carb is being mailed next week to a wonderfully civilized person in California as soon as I find a needle that'll suite the engine spec.

hmmm, wait a minute, why and how did you know about that word???  hmmm? made me think..oooops!

"i DO NOT know these kinds of words, i am asian/malaysian and im totally unaware of it, all i wanted to do is to shorten the word "come",, we asians do that a lot when texting."

Utter baloney. I have known LOTS of Asians including Maylasians and every one I have met is scrupulosly polite and would not make that mistake. And I did write that the "English-second-language" ploy just won't work. You knew exactly what you posted. Besides, that wa not the only offensive issue in your post. You are so full of mistruths, slurs, abuse and BS you seem to have lost connection with basic honesty and decency.

By the way, if you have a stock 998cc engine with its original manifold (which it appears to be) it will accept very easily a HIF38 or even a HIF44 (and their imperial equivalents) - as easily as the HS-4 you have now. Yes, the abutment plate is different because the dircetion the cable need to pull is different that the HS-4. If our HS-4 has a spacer, then it is shaped for a HS-4, but the centre hole is the right size and the two bolt holes will match up with two of the HIF38 holes and slide right onto the two mounting studs you have. Of course if you have a drill press and know how to use it, you could fabriate your own spacer out of an appropriate plastic.

.

While I do indeed have alloy inlets, neither of them are from Minispeed.

If you bothered to do ANY homework or research of your own (instead of just asking questions and then ridiculing the answers) you'd know that the size and shape of an alloy inlet (especially the MG one) is the same as the cast iron version.  You'd also know that the hole spacing of the diagonal 2-bolt HS4 is identical to the diagonal on the 4-bolt HIF flange, so any 1½" or 38mm carb will fit on any manifold.

Oh...
I already told you that two days ago...
