I served 15 years in the marine corps. I can handle it. But he does have a very unlikeable personality.

All depends on Jeg hun. Or we could have a poll and see how many would agree with my idea.

The carb is ultrasonic cleaned (non-agressive jewelery cleaner solution) and rebuilt using Berlen Fuel Systems service kit p/n CSK 78.  It's a good carb for the price.

I don't know which intake manifold you've got, so I can't answer your question.

Batteries not included.

From reading the history of this forum I'm doubtful Boison will follow through. Should have armycook post a pic of the sump guard in his possession before sending the carb Jeg

my two cents. Hihi!

If you're willing to send the sumpguard to armycook, then I'll send the HIF38 carb to you.

As I said, I'm not sure if I've got the magnetic rings for the Hall-effect type ignition - useless without them, and I offered the HIF38 carb in exchange for the sumpguard.  I've learned that it's best to get a dizzy suited for the engine it's used in, so if I were you, I'd stick with the one you've got or find something you can trade someone else for a 123 multiple-curve distributor or an accuspark.

I'll need your address - you can E-mail it to me at the E-mail address in my profile and I'll send the carb.

jeg, hope you consider this, i am really in dire need of these two items for my mini to run better(hopefuly)

--> an HIF38 carb and an electronic distributor , since you are sending an item to me, why not send one of your electronic dizzy as well. if the sump guard will suffice the trade thank you ,but if not. what do you want to trade for the dizzy? as much as possible we are avoiding cash flow in this deal... let me know what you think...

I haven't received any E-mail from anyone yet, so if others chime in on the Acropolis sign to bring the price down, it'll help - I'm unemployed.

We will wait for Boison and I'm cool with the deal if he is. I kind of want an acropolis plate for my cooper too so that's 3.

im im also a badass cook And I'm still very interested in the sump guard.

ok. ill take Aldon dizzy for my steering wheel instead. (but i cannot take the fact that jeg and i are using the same brand of distributor, disgusting,,hahaha, lol)

Do you want my HIF38 carb?  Whatcha got to trade for it?  How about that Innocenti sump guard that you had, do you still have it?  As he'd expressed interest in it earlier, it could be sent to armycook if he still wanted it.

You can be disgusted all you want; Aldon's sold tens of thousands of these dizzys over the years, but since you've wretched the guts of nearly everyone here, it's about time.  Maybe it sickens you enough that you'll leave.  The Aldon dizzy that I recently installed will be used for a total of 3 weeks as an interim solution to 2 distributors that I had rebuilt by H&H in the U.K..  They're no longer suitable, as I'd changed the engine a bit since they were curved - I've got a 45D being recurved by the 'Doctor' (Martin) in the U.K. for the current configuration of my 998 and it'll be ready at the end of July.  Once installed, the Aldon will be sent back to Aldon for reconditioning and shelved for a rainy day spare or eventual trade item.  Since I've had this Aldon dizzy, the car has been started, timed, driven 6½ miles and parked in the garage.  I've been busy with other things, like having installed a 1 GB fiber system in our apartment building.  Need a carb?  I've got 6 fully rebuilt carbs in a box.  Need a distributor?  I've got 4 rebuilt distributors (bushes, shaft, springs etc...) sitting in a box, more waiting to be sent out as funds allow.  Electronic ignition?  Sure, I've got a couple of magnetic ring Hall-type systems sitting in a box, not sure if I've still got the 'magnetic rings' though - might have used the magnets on my toolbox.

I might have something else that I could trade, so if you've an extra tach, my e-mail is in my profile -

I've purchased the tachometer, don't need another steering wheel and having recently given a mint leather Mountney and 'S' radiator to a club member, I'm not in need of anything, but of course, something interesting might come up as a trade item which could be considered...

I do, however, still have the carburetor; it's all boxed up and ready to go, and I'd would be willing to ship it to pretty much anywhere.  The problem, though, is that this is the 'Free Parts Swapfest' thread and I'd probably be looking to sell it to someone who wanted it.

Free is free. This whole forum doesnt give us the luxury of creating or going to different sub categories such as Barters and trade with sub categories of something you like Alex. We work with what we have and it's ok. Minimania provided us this forum and I think we just have to use it smartly. I suggest make this thread strictly for Barter or trade for "anything" in particular with expenses only paid for shipping items and let them figure out how they want to play and leave the other rules behind. No specific relevance for whatever nominal amount or value? Not everyone would want to part with high value item to exchange with a lesser value. And I say just leave it to them. We should allow them to specifically ask what they want in exchange for parts they want to offer and if they don't have anything specific in return then it is fine. Even offer trade mini parts in exchange for a service like carpentry or a tune up. Otherwise I'd be happy to make more threads just like this one with a different set of rules. But we don't wanna flood this forum with 10 more threads stuck in one general category.

I'm sure many of us have got the odd thing lying about that we'll never use, but which could be of use to someone else.
Often, as demonstrated during Brad's enterprise, whole swathes of free stuff is hoovered up en-masse by an individual, never to be seen again or later upcycled for profit (kudos for stopping that from happening).
What I'm proposing is simple - if someone wants a free thing, they have to offer a free thing to the board in return.  It's a bit like the old Grab-bag that did the rounds for ages before disappearing into a garage somewhere.

So, the Rules:
1)  If you want a part, you must offer a part.  Try and post a picture of the part, even if it means revisiting and editing one in later.
2)  Parts must be free, only postage is to be paid.
3)  Value of parts is nominally irrelevant, but don't offer a piece of broken crap in exchange for shiny treasure.
4)  Once your part has gone, edit your post so people know it's no longer available.
5)  You can offer stuff for swap without having to take anything.
6)  Don't stiff people on the postage.

I know that the 'rules' are merely the guidelines on which I hoped this would work, but it seems like a good idea to reiterate the intent.

Simply offer up stuff you no longer want - FOR FREE to anyone who asks (exceptions probably apply).
If anyone (again, exceptions probably apply) wants something that has been offered up, the wantee posts pretty pictures of something they are willing to give away FOR FREE and conclude the deal with the offerer.

Asking for specific high value items in return for something specific rarely works, but free exchange of low to mid range treasure does.

I've got  2 pair of front seats for MK 3 and on.  fabric and vinyl. Both are tatty but if you need a frame and foam, or want to try to mod a frame with a head rest, they're free.  They're on LI in NY. Shipping is on you, or pick them up.

Also some leather small steering wheels. Used condition.

I'd trade a leather wheel for a MK 1/2 steering wheel w/ cracks. I'm gonna give it a resto.
