I could use the 998 push rods.

Let me know what shipping would be to 34241

Thanks,

It looks like USPS will be the most cost effective and about $8.00 shipped from San Diego. My e-mail is in my profile, shoot me an e-mail and we can arrange it.

According to Rule 1, for Sir Coop to get the push rods he needs to offer a free part to qualify.
Obviously this is unenforceable, but it's kind of the whole idea to keep the free things rolling.

Alex,

I will be putting some stuff up here, have to dig to get to it though!

If no posting....fair enough.

I will have bits to offer up once I get to the shed

I have a set of MkIII Cosmic wheels I keep stubbing my toe on
(just kidding Alex...lol )

OK, I'll play this game:

  • Two Exacton wheels, no centre cap or nuts (maybe, I might have some in the garage)
  • lots of HS2 carbs, all singles, no match pair
  • lots of HS4 carbs, some match pairs
  • MK3 vent windows (4 of each side.... I don't own a MK 3!)
  • transfer cases, at least 6 more than I need (scrap aluMINIum if no one wants them)
  • rod change gear case, no guts
  • remote shift housing, at least 6 more than I need, one 1100/1300 type
  • MK2/3 tail lamp assembly (why exactly do I have 20 pair and only one MK2 saloon?) New ones are cheap, I should just chuck these...
  • 998 crank, 10/10, std/std
  • magic wand B box "barn fresh"
  • Lucas alternators and starters
  • 1100/1300/1800 style ribbon speedo
  • Nikki cab on A series manifold with filter

Here's the deal: I'm in an economic gravity well which makes these things essentially worthless; that is to say they are not worth shipping. If you arrive at my shop with a VERY good story as to how you can REALLY use these things, I'll help you load. If, however, you are a greedy SOB that wants to make a buck off the community, then you will get a camshaft in the posterior and you will be walking funny for a long time. These parts are for people who need them to finish a project, nothing else. Oh, and if you are a known diquehead, ignore this post, you get nothing. Karma sux.

If your story is good enough, I might be convinced to haul stuff to Abbotsford for the MMW15. If there's enough interest, I'll pack the whole lot down in my van and trailer the Hornet

This might work !

Yes Willie, I think it ought to be for Mini related stuff

I've amended rule 1 - please try and post pictures of your treasure, even if it is as an edit to the initial offer.  It isn't difficult, and saves a thousand words...

I think I've got a brand new 1275 engine steady that I'll never use - I might have pirated the bushings to use on my tie rods, though; I'll have to check.  I'm sure someone could use it.

This is cool. I'm the one that got Beau's grab-bag going long time back. I got a box of parts from him and thought it would be neat to pass it along afterwards.

Good Job Alex.

Good stuff Alex... I'll take a look and see what I have surplus!

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

I have 5x5x20 and 6x6x17 carbon brushes. The 6mm are used for the wiper motor.  The 5mm are what you buy when you didn't measure the wiper brushes correctly th first time.

To start it off.

I acquired these grille buttons to use on Betty when she had a Mk2-on grille.  Now she's got a Mk1 grille I no longer want to use them

FREE to anyone who wants them - you just have to offer something else up to qualify.

The very generous giveaway of free parts by Willie_B the other week got me thinking.

I'm sure many of us have got the odd thing lying about that we'll never use, but which could be of use to someone else.
Often, as demonstrated during Brad's enterprise, whole swathes of free stuff is hoovered up en-masse by an individual, never to be seen again or later upcycled for profit (kudos for stopping that from happening).
What I'm proposing is simple - if someone wants a free thing, they have to offer a free thing to the board in return.  It's a bit like the old Grab-bag that did the rounds for ages before disappearing into a garage somewhere.

So, the Rules:
1)  If you want a part, you must offer a part.  Try and post a picture of the part, even if it means revisiting and editing one in later.
2)  Parts must be free, only postage is to be paid.
3)  Value of parts is nominally irrelevant, but don't offer a piece of broken crap in exchange for shiny treasure.
4)  Once your part has gone, edit your post so people know it's no longer available.
5)  You can offer stuff for swap without having to take anything.
6)  Don't stiff people on the postage.
