Any chance of a picture??  ... or three.  Bare bucket installed in body, then one with the lamp/retaining ring in place and then one with the trim ring partially in place.... ???

The rings are a snug fit and easy to distort.  Mine are original (which makes them pretty old).  They need a pretty firm thump with the heel of the hand to get them to snap into place....

Cheers, Ian

How did you end up resolving this issue? The chrome rings I have refuse to go on. I have applied about as much force as I am willing to and the rings just won't snap on. They are currently on about 80% of the circumference. I never realized how many of the parts out there were poor quality reproductions when I first started amassing parts for my car. I wonder if I should look around for a better set.

Does anyone have an thoughts on this problem?

I believe that clip fits over the hole on the outer edge of the bucket.
It is there for the threads of the screw to grab.

If you have the outer ring ( the bit the bucket attaches to ) on correctly, there should be two slightly upturned edges at the top.  These are to hold the outer ring in place.
If you mount the top of the outer ring over these first...the bottom should pop into place....sometimes may need a little pressure.
Just need to line the bottom hole up properly with the "clip" hole

Should the metal outter chrome ring fit easly over the metal bucket??  I've got new buckets but there is no way to get the ring on.

I don't think you need it with the palstic buckets, the clip fits onto the front of the metal headlight buckets to hold the trim ring screw

Having a bit of a issue installing my headlamp rings. My new headlamp bucket has a hole for the retaining screw so I not sure why I need a "headlamp clip" Part # 37H7421A.  Anyone have (willing to take) a pictuer of their setup?  I'm not sure how that little clip fits in there.

thanks!
