I did think about sending over a few hundred litres of the Unipart 20w50 (not called green anymore Dave), but the fear of EPA regs for storage, sale and liability prevented it.
I'm guessing there is a reason Don doesn't seem to sell oil...

Brad Penn is available most anywhere in the USA. I have been using Brad Penn oil in Minis for a while now. Break in oil for engines with new cam or lifters, 20W/50 after that. Only the 20/50 Kendall has higher ZDDP levels, and then only a bit. It's still SN rated. Just FYI, 20/50 Kendall has .119 zinc, .108 phosphorus; Brad Penn .15 zinc, .14 phosphorus. You can find all kinds of info on oil and ZDDP, but from what I read, a level of .12 on both z & p are what you want in flat tappet engines. I'm not aware of any SM or SN oil that meets that. YMMV.

Another option is a brand called Brad Penn oil, but I'm not sure if you can get it down there. Is that Kendall GT-1???

After reading the above and looking in to the Kenall GT-1 I went to Auto Zone to get some. Then I find it's on sale for about $3.50 qt. So, it doesn't make any sense to pursue the Millers. Thanks for all of the input!!!

Yes, since Rotella quit with the ZPPD, I am using VR1 now in my flat-tap engines, with the comp-cams additive every time I break in a new cam (everything flat-tappet - not just the minis) - only half a bottle needed on the minis however!

I quit with the millers a few years back - not becuase of the quality, but because the two times I used it, something completely unrelated to the oil itself made me have to change it quickly (once was an oil pipe splitting, once was a synchro failing and spitting all kinds of junk into the new oil) - and it just put me off stuff that was 1) hard to find locally & 2) not at all cheap.
I know that there are many who will be wanting to use only the best however, so if you have an opening, then jump on it :-)
That said - if you can get the unipart 20/50 (the unipart Green IIRC?) I'll be all over it, as it is cheap enough to buy 10 gallons of at a time...
It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

Standard Unipart 20w50 still meets the ZDDP requirements of old flat tappet engines - I've been running it (along with many others) with zero problems for years.
Freely available from all good Mini specialists.

From the Valvoline website...
Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil contains .13 percent of zinc and .12 percent of phosphorus compared to the Valvoline "Not Street Legal" Racing Oil which contains .14 percent of zinc and .13 percent of phosphorus.

I am currently paying $4.40 a quart (tax included) for kendall 20/50 with ZDDP. Valvoline does not have ZDDP anymore, atleast it's not printed on the container.

Due to the size of Classic Minis United I received a phone call asking if there would be a US market for Millers Oils. With all of the discussions about the correct oil for a Mini and the lack of ZDDP it's nice to see an oil that was devolped for a classic Mini (Made in the UK).
The sole licensed importer over here is mainly interested in the Motorsport oils but wants to see if the market for the classic Mini oil would be feasable. So, I figured I would ask everybody to see what you thought. How about some feedback from those in the UK that use the oil.
Think about the cost of your current options, Castrol plus ZDDP additive and Valvoline VR-1. What would be a realistic price for a 5L (5.3 US quarts) jug be? The oils will be drop shipped from the TN area, so shipping would also be a factor. Group orders between you and your area Mini friends could help save on the shipping.
Thoughts/opinions? Here are two Millers Oil links to look at One Two
