I run a 40 DCOE on my basically stock 1275 motor. Use the 3½" Cannon intake, seems to work okay. My pump is the Holley/Facet model, again, no problems with that either. Did have to trim a bit on the firewall at the lower corner of the guage opening. There are some photos here.

Just a few things to think about, If you do not plan to cut and box the bulkhead behind the center mount speedo you will have problems mounting an air cleaner. The intake manifolds that allow mounting a weber without cutting that bulk head give poor performance and very poor MPG figures. That's like the worst of both worlds not what most are looking for. Running and carb without an proper air filter is not a smart move at all. A 40 will cost just as much as a 45 to buy and tune and if you increase performance at a later date the 40 will begin to fall short. A std mechanical fuel pump has the correct pressure and will supply enough fuel for a street car. A std SU electric pump will work fine also. SUs and webers both like 2.5 or slightly less fuel pressure. Holley offers a high and a low pressure reducer. They are both adjustable but a high pressure one will not go low enough for your needs. You'd also need a FP gauge to do the adjustment. Check pressure info on aftermarket fuel pumps. Some are 1.5 to 2.5 which would not require a pressure reducer.
I'm considering selling off some of my 45 DCOE over stock. I no longer feel like cutting bulkheads.

Hey guys,
I am planning on putting a Weber 40 DCOE onto my 1275 engine.
I would like to know:
-what fuel pump you guys recommend using?
-what fuel pressure regulator you guys recommend using?
-what is the proper fuel pressure for a Weber 40?
Also, if you guys have any pictures of how you routed your fuel lines and mounted your fuel pressure regulator in your Mini's engine bay, it would be very helpful.
