The wheel that is being discussed in this thread is the wheel fitted from the middle of 1969. 
It is not the same as the wheel fitted to a 65.

Geez, I can see why so many Australian Mini steering wheels were changed out for much more attractive aftermarket wheels.  My '65 was shipped to me from OZ with an Autotecnica wood 3-spoke wheel, and after seeing what the stock one looks like, that is one part that I won't be converting back to original spec

Nice pic. I'm on the hunt for a BMC insert for my 1969 Mini K. I have the wheel but it has a Leyland insert. My car should have a BMC. If anyone has one for sale, please contact me.

An Australian 1970 Cooper S has the same steering wheel as a 1969 Mini K.

I have borrowed this photo from Rob over at Ausmini which shows the wheel with a BMC accessory cover...

Hi......I'll check my Aussie mini book and get back to you. I did much research on Aussie Minis as I have a 1969 Mini K.

updating my last question..LOL i have a 1970 morris cooper s (AUS).Does anyone know what the original steering wheel center looked like and if they might have one or know where there is one for sale..cheers!!!
