I've been running the Mr. Gasket 4364 thermostat for a number of years now.....always running on the "N"

Many times when searching for a mini part at the auto parts store, I ask for a austin sprite, mg midget, even triumph spitfire as these cars were imported to 1980. Of course they still have the same puzzle look on their faces, but atleast the people same listings in their books or computers.

It must be thermostat replacement week, as I also needed one in a hurry yesterday. I got an 82C/180F one from my local parts store and it cost me $15.20. Burglars..... but it does have a `3 year warranty'.
This saved me a 1hr drive to my usual Mini parts shop and back where they are only $6.42.
I bet both these thermostats come from China now, like everything else does.

The Bosch cap is less common than I expected. Our host is a handy source for them. The rotor is easily found. If you convert your 123 to the side entry cap, the Bosch caps readily available will fit.
Thermostat? I recommend an AC delco 195F for a small block chevy.

Just put in a Mr. Gasket 4364 thermostat in my 73 Mini and so far, works like a champ. It was a bit more expensive (12 or 13 bucks) than Mini suppliers but I did some research before buying it and had rave reviews in a Mini. I picked mine up at Oreilly but Im sure most major suppliers would have it. Google something to the effect of Mr. Gasket 4364 Classic Mini and see what comes up. Its of the 82C/180F variety.

I got the stant thermostat from Napa no problem, but neither NAPA or a foriegn car parts store nearby could find the Bosch cap and rotor numbers that I found on this site for the 123 distributor. Actually, the foriegn parts place found a Bosch that cross referenced for $35 just for the cap. They had no photos of it and I don't trust that it's the right one because that is over twice what I've ever paid for it.
The last time I bought the cap/ rotor was 5 or 6 years ago, and I probably ordered it from our host. That's what I'm going to do this time too.

Thanks for the Stant number Doug.
I was hoping to stop by NAPA on the way home to pick up the stuff, and assume that just telling them I need a Bosch 4 cyl cap and rotor won't give them enough information. I can easily take it off tonight and bring it with me tomorrow, but I thought if I could find a number I'd save a day and get the stuff replaced tonight.

Cap and rotor are Bosch.

I cannot help with the ignition parts. For the t-stat, any "normal" thermostat for a 1970s Chevrolet will work. For a standard 180oF t-stat you could ask for a Stant 29358 or its equivalent.

I need a thermostat and cap and rotor and wanted to know if anyone has a NAPA (or other) part number for these. Seems like basic parts to have to order from a specialty Mini parts supplier. My distributor is a 123, so I think the cap and rotor are Bosch parts.
