Let me see if I can answer all your questions.

Badges.....for the rear.....check ebay australia for the 1100 badge. The others should be available here in the states.

Front badge is tough to find and expensive. Keep at it on ebay Australia.

By windows I assume you mean the windshield and rear glass. Remove them. Rubber is available from this site or other sellers. If yours are good you can re-use them but I think it's false economy.

Door glass can stay. Just tape them off. The vent window rubber is very expensive at about 100 bucks a side so don't mess with them if they're good.

Heater box is an add on in my car. It was part of the Cooperization done in OZ.

There's a link to an article written in OZ about the Mini K. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

Found it.....//bmcexperience.com.au/issue-18/mini-k.html

I believe there's another one with more detail.....I'll search for it.

Hi zooomz,

I've got a 1970 Mini K also. YG2S13830

Here's a few links to my photobucket account showing my car at the time I picked it up and its repaint. My car was also "cooperized" so it is not totally original.

My apologies, I forgot you had a pic on p1. Yes that's a 140KMH Oz bigwheel Moke speedo.
If the face is marked 800 (turns/km) it suits 10" wheels & a 3.44 diff. If marked 860 it suits a 3.647 diff. Approx, but pretty close in both cases.

Yes the Mini K came with temp and oil pressure gauges in a Mk2 binnacle.
The temp gauge was marked C---H, not C-N-H.

Ok so i guess what i was trying to extrapulate was if there was a reason for a mini k to come with a 140kmh speedo. Maybe when the PO swapped the engine for the 1275 they swapped the tranny and gauge cluster as well. Did the mini k come with a temp gauge on the cluster? If that is the case whats the best way to id the tranny in the car?

I thought there was a pic up there of the speedo. There is on my page? It only has KMH #s  and no mph #s
The #s are below the hash marks.

Put a pic up and I can tell you. If it has KMH round the outside and MPH (smaller font) on the inside, it is a decal. Or an aftermarket face.

The cars sent to CA had kph on outside and mph inside....so they did factory make them
( from 1976 at least )

Yeah i thought the radiator might be different. I couldnt find the chassis # or any other #s on it. I just got the car from my brother last week. He said one of the rear bags blew out and was going to switch it over to dry. He pulled all of the wet stuff off  which i have but havnt checked to see what condition its in. Before i got on here and really started reading i already ordered the wet/dry conversion kit with Spax,Hi/Lo and coil springs. I guess ill see how it goes before i sell any of the wet stuff.

Mini K all had a 90mph speedo, earliest 1969 cars had a 3.76 diff, the rest got a 3.647.
Australia went Metric for speed and distances in the 70s, Mokes got a 140MPH centre speedo and some folks put them into their earlier Minis. There were also decals sold then to convert the 90MPH speedo face to KMH.

140kph because Aust. is metric is it not?  That would be nearly 90mph

Looks like a Morris 1100 (Austin America) radiator in there too.  Those radiators are wider than usual mini, have to remove the 2nd bonnet latch to fit them tho.

Now i have to start on the wet to dry conversion i just ordered everything for. My email is [email protected]

Mini K badging:

Front is a circular bezel with the Morris Bull in it. same as a UK Mk2 Morris badge. [edit] these are NLA new, even from Somerford Mini in UK.
Rear is `Morris Mini 1100' vertical script.

Why convert to dry? They don't handle any better for road use and ride poorly in comparison. IMO...
My Morris Mini.Matic still has its original hydro, with a pair if front shocks and comp rear bumpstops now it outhandles the dry Cooper S replica we had on Konis, particularly on poor surfaces.

I'd get rid of the RH tank..unless you need to do some long disctance travelling.... and put the $400 you'll get for it towards a rebuild

Post you wet stuf up for sale and offset the cost of the dry bits, there seems to be a lot of interest in those components as they are NLA.
