I actually don't know if my Michelins were GX501's come to think of it? They were 145/10's though. 'All Season' tires as I recall. They also had (age?) cracks in the sidewalls. They still wore like iron.                        Mini Estate Quote:

Mini Mokes look great with the mud and snow tires on them.

I actually ran these very tires on the first Mini I ever owned back in 1988. It was a 1962 850 Austin Countryman. They lasted forever and performed incredibly in snow and ice. Michelin's have a good reputation. After owning those I could see why!                              Mini Estate  Quote:

So typical that we post in California and find a tire in Montreal.

Thanks Martin for stepping up.

Let's put this thread to bed.

GX-501s were even OK in the snow.  I probably had fifty myself and brought in as many for other people.

GX501s were great tires...drove across Canada to MME 2000 in Magog and home again across the states.  Almost no evidence of wear.

Wept silently when Yokohama dropped the offering as they were excellent daily driver tires.  They even did well in the race drivers' school when I first passed then stayed ahead of a new 5 litre Mustang for several laps on a damp track in Mission.

BUT...just how old are the 501s on the Revolutions?

Chuck has a full set of 12" snows mounted on steel rims from his previous Mini.

He also had 5 cosmics with snow tires mounted on 10" and a set of 6x10 revolutions with GX501's that came on his recently purchased Mini.( Bought from Gail Kerr. )

Recently the Mini was t-boned by a Honda . Red light intersection mishap.

the car is now at Pierre Dubois to have a new driver's door and quarter panel fitted.

So, since Chuck would like to keep mags for the winter he only needs one tire.

It seems that Martin could have what he needs.

I did notice that the French mini parts place with the wharehouse full of cars has snow tires, both ten and twelve, if the person wants to spring for a new set.  I haven't seen a Michelin that I would try to use on a street car for more than a decade.  Hope one shows up for you.

Someone must have one of these lying around that they are not using.

One of our members that drives his Mini year round just had a blow out. He is looking for one Michelin M+S 145/80/10.

If you have one that you are willing to part with please let me know.

Thanks
