The pink dim dip relay can be eliminated. The guys on the mini forum UK remove it and join these wires;

To bypass the relay, join the blue-red and blue-brown wires, tape up the others or remove them completely, then throw the relay into the nearest bin.

I took their advice and removed the resistor and joined the wires it really serves no purpose. I think I chucked the resistor but I still have the pink relay if you really want one.

The other one is probably the yellow multi use multi function 4 prong relay, my car has 2 of them on the firewall and 2 on the clutch side inner fender. Try one of the UK suppliers for them when I was looking for one MM didn't have them in stock.

All,

Just about have all my wires from my (now correct - the first I received was for a Morris Minor) new harness labeled, and have 3 questions.

1)  I have a pink junction box inside the car near the dash that I think is for a lighting/flasher relay.  Is this the right relay for this junction box?  //www.minimania.com/part/YWC10050/Relay-12v-7-Pin-For-Dip-Dim-Control-pink

If so, the description says it needs to be used in conjunction with a resitor, part number DRC6554, which our host doesn't seem to stock.  There's a picture of this interesting resistor thing here:  //www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-ROVER-MINI-DIM-DIP-RESISTOR-DRC6554-CLEARANCE-PRICE-998CC-OR-1275CC-/251433332532   It seems this mounts on the radiator side support webbing off the inner fender.

Can I use the pink relay without this resistor?

2)  I have another junction box on the clutch side inner winginner wing, this one 4 prong.  I don't see this on the schematics I have, but think it is either a stater relay or an immobilizer relay (one thick brown, one thick brown/red, one small black and one small white/red wire going into it).  Any ideas what it is, and what relay should go there?  (maybe this one:  //www.minimania.com/part/YWB10012/Relay---Multiple-Use-oenon-Returnable)

I've got a '68 with a non pre-engaged 1275 with carb (not SPI/MPI), Halogeon headlights and MkIII steering wheel (so I have horn, wipers and high/low beam on the stalks).

This is a late year harness ('89) to accomodate some of the upgrades I've done, and recognize I'll need to make some modifications to make this harness fit my specific application.

Thanks!

Scott
