Missing both...in fact we are missing just about everything that used to be attached to the front sub frame. must have put it in a box and then....can't find the box anywhere.

good thing we have lots of spares on hand for the suspension.

I also need the 4 bolts but should be able to source those locally (have a fastnel warehouse in the city)

They were not stuck to bottom of cross member, car has been on a spit for 3 years getting the rust removed.

No you would not want to use rubber. Are you missing one or both? Did you look to see it they stuck to the bottom of the cross member? I cut ones out of aluminium plate and drill holes as required. Steve (CTR)

The rubber replacement in '76 went together with the rubber ear mounts on the front subframe (steel/rubber/steel) and the BIG rubber bushes in the forward rear subframe mounting to try and take some of the harshness out of the Mini ride.  Cost less precise handling.

Aluminum spacers have been manufactured to replace the rubber for the one bolt sub frame towers, can't say if the same has been done for the earlier two bolt towers...never had occasion to look.

Thanks hunter You were posting when I was typing. so they are metal not rubber? what would happen if one used rubber? wouldn't rubber be better?

I can still make out of metal.

Yes sorry it is a 1973 that we are putting back together. we do have a couple of the single bolt frames on hand that we could switch to but I don't see how they work at all.  I am guessing that the hole in the "firewall bulkhead" would need to be smaller or there is a washer needed.

I just am hoping that the spacer is made out of rubber and is the same thickness as the rubber conveyor belt that I have here. don't really want to pay $90 bucks for the little pads if I have material on hand that I can make one from (and really don't have a lot of time to order anything right now)

The iron pads are 3/16" thick.

if you mean two bolts per tower, they use a metal washer as far as i m concerned..

and the pad : //www.minimania.com/part/21A2341/Mini--Mini-Cooper-Spacer-Front-Subframe-To-Body

if you mean the later after '76 its :

Ok So it has only been 3 years since we took it apart. frame is a 2 bolt. can not find the pad that goes between frame and body. how thick is it and what is it made out of? I have a piece of conveyor belt that might work. only have 10 days to get car running
