I ran my fan backwards for months. The previous owner put it on that way and I just assumed it was correct. No big deal. I was just happy to have it on the right way around. And it worked better.

C'mon, Tony, since you don't believe me/us, why don't you just read the Calver article and turn your fan around?
You really are an embarrasment; I really understand why you've had the troubles you've had.
It's time to pull your bootstraps up and admit that you made a mistake. Heck, I even suggested previously that it happens, that you shouldn't feel bad about it and that many mini owners unknowingly install their fans backwards and only realize it when they're running hot and someone mentions it to them.

Is there any chance you'll read the short article from KC's website?
If you haven't heard of him, Keith Calver is someone who knows his way around the classic mini.
Of course, he hasn't owned 200 of them and he doesn't do videos, so I don't know if he's up to your qualification standards. His website has all sorts of great free information for you to read; if your interested, of course.

Okay, so why don't you go back to your RVM thread and post what you claim to have?
Or are you still trying to make it look like the reality you perceive?

This is sheriff Branford... You do realise that you are out of your jurisdiction???
for some reaso, you sounded a little taller on the radio...
It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

There are two ways the perceived 90mph speed improvement might result from the fan reversal. You guys are thinking inside the box.
1. Blowback into the engine bay could pass leaking monoxide into the interior, producing a highly euphoric state causing a driver to mistake speedometer Km for Mph. This euphoria would persist long enough to produce some really great forum posts.
2. Aerodynamic flow underneath the car would create a high pressure air cushion. Tire friction would also be reduced as the vehicle was raised. Lost cornering capability can be reclaimed with rudders, located either aft or attached to the front wheels.
3. The effects on global warming require a huge research grant to determine.

Unfortunately, with the personal attacks and other classic Robster actions, I don't think this tiger can change his spots. That's a quote from a movie, too.

".... fan having it's rivet head facing the engine side gives less cooling effect?..
OMG!!! To quote one of my favorite movies (might be giving too much away?) "The god-damn Germans got nothing to do with it" .... It has NOTHING to do with the rivets!!! PLEASE read about how an airfoil generates lift! You airfoil is backwards! Forget the rivets!
You know, WAY back when robster was a puppy, I said this is like a train wreck..... we just HAVE to keep looking! Look at how many views his posts have!! WHY????? Human nature must have us enjoying the torture! I wonder if Mini people are masochists more than the general population.... We MUST be!
Can anyone name the Movie? And another great line from it??

as zippy always say, " do you have any proof" can you show me any documentation that a radiator fan having it's rivet head facing the engine side gives less cooling effect?..any actual experimentation you can share with us not just lip service?!! thanks

liquid has higher density than air,
the air might be scattered when it reach the radiator but the amount of air is same... speed of rotation is more significant than the design of the blade
Wrong again. So the designer of the Mini fan and possibly every other car running a fan not to mention countless aircraft and no less than five people on this board are all wrong !!!!! There is no hope for you, i feel sorry for you as you don't get it and you never will.

sorry jemal,, will tame now promise..
We will see how long that lasts.
Getting back to the fan issue. You have been told by Jeg, Jemal, mtymous, Redriley, myself and Olddad some more than once andd one three times that the fan is on backwards so what's the verdict, has it been conveyed well enough for you to comprehend and understand it should be changed and by doing that it may need a wider spacer to make it work correctly ? Think of it this way your "Special" Mini may gain some horsepower as the fan blade will be slicing through the air cleaner, if nothing else motivates you that should.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

I've been working on Minis for 50 years, and I can guarantee that fan is on backwards. It will blow air toward the rad but at a much reduced effeciency than when on correctly. Works the same as with a wing/ sailboat sail/propeller. With the airfoil oriented correctly the high presure side of the fan will be toward the rad.
If somebody wants to put the fan on backwards anyway, who cares as long as it is correct on my car.
