Someone that is actually speaking to this member might have a better shot at conveying the difference between right and privilege to be here.
Someone is rather fond of YouTube, I'll address the highlighted text above. with a little snippet.
Possibly someday Don will tie into the city sewer system, until that day comes an occasional clean out of the septic system from time to time will suffice.
As for derogatory adjectives I've used, they were below me. But spot on ! I keep telling myself "Take the high road".

However the video itself does have a wee bit of value: it is 2 or 3 guys (with several Minis) who are trying to start a newly rebuilt Mini (Cooper S apparently?) with twin carbs. My remarks are for "those interested in learning something", as I think Dave's were. (... keeping in mind the troll has shown many times he doesn't want to learn!). The video is actually fairly well photographed. Very clear, up-close images of the nice shiny twin-carb setup. The guys involved seemed to do most things properly, and it appears to be an older, knowledgeable man giving instruction on initial start of a newly rebuilt engine. I suspect he wasn't involved in the build or installation, but was brought in to mentor the startup. I thought it was pretty good for those who have never seen twin carbs close up. They were very similar to the ones I had about 45 years ago.

It's been fun, but this place is done. I have no hatred, and appreciate the good times. But this place now belongs to Tony and his pink mini.

I personally believe that I f there was enough spark to allow the engine to run at 2000rpm, the issue was more likely carb / fuel / vacuum related. Don't need a timing light to see this.

I didn't watch the video, but hoped and prayed this thread would go unanswered .
His only specialty is stirring the pot and pi$$ing people off for his own enjoyment.
He's a class A, #1 A-hole.
And needs to be ignored. There's no helping him, and he doesn't want it. There are plenty here that are worthy of your knowledge/experience.
This I typed for Dan and Dave and other members, he knows I will not reply to him, even in my own defense, or the defense of others.
This is OUR forum, let's care for it and protect it.

For those interested in learning something:
The air cleaner horns were removed so he could use his flow gauge to balance the two carbs. I would have got it running with the horns AND air cleaners in place before worrying about balancing. Absence of the horns and air cleaners tends to make the mixture lean, and the air cleaner assemblies also act as backfire flame suppressors... the flame was visible on the video! The absence of fuel was also proven by the admission that the fuel pump had not been connected. With that done the engine ran!
The gauge he used did not seem all that effective anyway - he held it over each carb separately, thereby modifying the flow unequally.
With the throttle linkage between carbs tightened, adjusting the idle screws is ineffective - one screw will open both throttles. To balance, the linkage needs to be loosened. He was also using his finger to lift the dashpots, apparently to check balance. One does the lift-test to check idle mixture, adjusting the main jet accordingly. Maybe he was checking idle mixture, but that vital point was omitted from the video.
The smoke rising from behind the carbs is just oil, grime etc. from handling and installation on the outside of the exhaust manifold. The manifold was just warming up!
